Hi. I’m Cindy. I hail from the cornfields of Illinois, spent four years at this school near Boston, and now wrestle tiny biomolecules with very expensive machines as a Chemical Biology / Molecular and Cell Biology graduate student at UC Berkeley.
Grad school is a bundle of knee-slappin’ jollity overwrought nerves. It’s like an extended visit to Chuck E. Cheese’s, where you can flail around in a pool of plastic balls like it’s nobody’s business, only to discover that your friends at the arcade have already traded in their tickets for cheap, plastic, fun prizes. But look! you say - I found the one purple ball in that whole pit of plastic balls! I spent hours cataloging that entire pit, and I even have a Ph.D. to show for it!
Well, one of these days, those ball-pit-cataloging skills will might come in handy. In the meantime, I preserve my sanity by cooking, eating, playing music, taking photos, designing things, and other such frivolous productive endeavors.
